Would you like to spend 6 days riding in pure nature, single trails in woods and mountains and finish journey at beautiful Lake Bled? Come with us to mountain-bike journey to the heart of Slovenia. It will be 6 days out in nature, riding best trails in woods and mountains, visiting many natural spots and taking beautiful views of the landscape below us. We will stop at local mountain huts, eating local food and sleeping at mountain huts.

Itinerary

DAY 1

Up to the Pohorje

We will start in the city of Maribor, with cable car lift or climbing up to ridge on our bike. Our here on the  Pohorje ridge our journey starts, following endless single trails in woods. We will visit a local ski resort and pretty church nearby, and then stop at mountain hut for a big local lunch. Next stop will be the highest waterfall on Pohorje, or just relax on a nice spot at the river. Ride will continue to the day stop at ski resort Rogla.

DAY 2

From Pohorje down to Koroska

The second day begins with a singletrail ride to the eye-catching lakes. We will stop for a photo session and to enjoy nature. Singletrails continue in green woods and high-altitude pasture. We will stop at mountain hut for lunch, and then ride to the highest peak of Pohorje,  Crni vrh at 1543 m. From there goes down, still following Pohorje ridge, all the way to last long downhill ride to Slovenj Gradec.

DAY 3

Singletrail land Koroska

We are now in the singletrail wonderland of Koroska. Day will start in the old town center of Slovenj Gradec, and quite soon we will ride again in green wood. We will raise up to Urslja gora mountain, catching views on eastern Alps, including our next day’s trail. From peak we will find beautiful singletrails down to the valley, learning why Koroska is a wonderland of singlertails. Day will end in nice village of Crna na Koroskem.

DAY 4

All about the views

Day will start with a long, but not steep ascent up to the mountains. There we will follow the famous Solcava panoramic road, the route with the most beautiful views in Slovenia. On our display will be easter part of Slovenian Alps, with beautiful Logarska valley. We will stop for lunch at a local farm, tasting local food and experiencing real life in the mountains. Ride will continue with a small jump to neighboring Austria, and the new ascent will bring us above Jezersko, the next beautiful village in the mountains. We will stop in Jezersko for a day-break, enjoying evening at lake there.

DAY 5

Karavanke ridge

From Jezersko our ride goes up, to the Karavanke ridge. We will ride on old military trails used to control the border of former Yugoslavia. At the mountain pasture we will find a nice hut for lunch break. Long crossing of Karavanke ridge will follow, passing many sheepyard pastures and remains of old life in the mountains. And there will be views, plenty of them! At the end of crossing we will make a short break at mountain hut, and then ride down on a pretty downhill section, all the way to the small town of Trzic.

DAY 6

On the way to Bled

It’s our last day, and still a lot of experiences in front of us! We will ride up to mountain pass, and then follow the old trail built in the slope of mountain Begunjscica, even passing some tunnels here. Raid will continue in the middle of mountains, following singletrails and again full of beautiful views. We will stop at a famous hut below Stol mountain, for a delicious local lunch. Lasts ups and down and then beautiful downhill trail all the way to the Bled, well deserved award for each mounting biker. We will spend a night at Bled, chilling at the lake and sharing impressions from the ride done.

Guides are experienced cycling guides, who know all hidden spots of tour locations. They will support you with all experience and skills any time you’ll need them. Storytelling on base of cultural and natural sights on the way makes experience even better.

Our cycling tours are suitable both for those who cycle regularly and those who take a cycling trip occasionally. Together we choose a tour and adjust it to your skills and abilities, we can make a difficult and technical demanding tour for skilled riders and an enjoyable trip for the one who ride occasionally.

Wear comfortable sports clothes. For tours in the mountains, where temperatures can change rapidly, bring warm clothes and a waterproof jacket in case of bad weather.

Please bring bottle of water and sun protection in summer months. We provide all the cycling gear (bikes, helmets, service first aid, …). Any additional gear, can be stored in a van.

Children are welcome, as long as they can ride for at least 20 kilometres. Please notify us in advance, about kids joining the tour when you book. Together we will adjust the difficulty of the tour for that group. Please notify us, about children’s own gear.

What about the bad weather?2019-09-06T10:39:07+01:00

Great tours might be ruined due to bad weather. We’ll make sure the tours happen even in less ideal weather, but we will put your safety first. In case your tour gets cancelled due to bad weather, we’ll return  your money.
